Applications are invited from suitably-experienced senior Speech & Language Therapists to lead the Adult Acute and Community service in a Band 8A Lead post on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.The SLT team comprises; a Band 8A Clinical Lead, a Band 7 Specialist post (who will deputise), a Band 6 SLT and a Band 3 Assistant. You will be responsible for the management of the island-wide Adult Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service in both the Acute Hospital and CommunityTo provide management, leadership, direction, supervision, professional consultation, guidance and advice to staff working within this service. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the postholder will work to: - Lead, plan, develop and deliver a high-quality SLT Service that is well integrated with other professional services and reflects local need; - Ensure appropriate financial control- Promote governance and best practice principles in the delivery of SLT ServiceThe Adult SLT Service is small and whilst sufficient time will be allocated to management duties, you will also manage a caseload of patients with complex and highly complex needs. A full job description is available upon application. Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale. The current Band 8A salary range is £70,723 to £86,357 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000.
