You'll help pupils understand challenging concepts, develop their problem-solving skills and become more confident and independent learners.You may support students 1:1, in small groups and within the wider classroom, giving you experience working with learners of different abilities and needs.Key responsibilitiesAs a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group supportacross STEM subjectsHelp students develop their understanding of key STEM conceptsSupport pupils with problem-solving, practical tasks and independent learningAssist teachers with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasksEncourage students to engage positively with STEM subjectsHelp build students' confidence and motivationSupport learners who require additional guidance with their studiesWork collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school teamProvide feedback on student progress where appropriate  Who are we looking for?We're keen to hear from graduates with: A STEM-related degree, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject, ideally at 2:1 or aboveStrong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate ideas clearlyA genuine interest in working with young peopleExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience, enthusiasm and a positive attitudePrevious experience working with children or young people (desirable, but not essential) Previous classroom experience isn't required.
