Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
We’re on the hunt for a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant who holds:
- A 2:1 or 1st class degree from a Top-3o University in any STEM subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Math’s, Computer Science)
- Strong academic record throughout GCSE’s and A-Levels, especially in STEM subjects
- Passionate about education and sees this as a stepping stone to a long-term career in teaching or the broader education sector
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills – confident, warm and able to build rapport with students and staff
- Ideally has some experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) – though this is not essential

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the learning journey of their students:
- Provide 1-1 and small group support in STEM lessons to help students who need extra attention or confidence-building
- Stretch and challenge high-achieving students, helping them go beyond the curriculum and deepen their critical thinking
- Be present in the classroom to support the teacher, answer questions, and offer encouragement
- Assist in preparing engaging teaching materials, revision resources and practical experiments
