What you will do:
- Attend to pupils' personal needs and implement related personal programmes including social health hygiene first aid and welfare matters.
- Implement Individual Education Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes as directed by the SENCO Teacher.
- Use specialist curricular learning skills training or experience to support pupils in their learning goals.
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
- Consistently support pupils while recognising and responding to their individual needs and encouraging co-operative learning.
- Promote independence and develop strategies to recognise and reward achievements in self-reliance.
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievements guiding them towards greater success.

Requirements:
- NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience is essential.
- GCSE English and Maths at grade A C or equivalent.
- Training in relevant educational strategies such as literacy dyslexia ICT Maths or English.
- Full working knowledge of the relevant national foundation phase curriculum and other learning programmes strategies.
- Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes.
- Effective use of ICT to support learning.
- Experience working with children of relevant age groups.
- Ability to evaluate personal learning needs and seek out learning opportunities.
- Strong ability to relate well with children and adults working constructively as part of a team and understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
