Social Worker within the Front Door Team in Children's Services in Cheshire, earning £40.10 per hour. What you will do:

Receive, screen, and assess referrals regarding children and families in line with statutory guidance and local protocols.

Conduct timely safeguarding assessments to identify needs, risks, strengths, and appropriate interventions.

Apply threshold guidance to determine whether cases require Early Help, Child in Need, Child Protection, or statutory social work involvement.

Gather, evaluate, and analyse information from multiple sources to support evidence-based decision-making.

Undertake Section 17 Child in Need and Section 47 Child Protection enquiries where required.

Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns, implementing protective measures where children may be at risk of harm.

Work closely with police, health services, education providers, Early Help services, and other partner agencies to deliver coordinated responses.

Participate in strategy discussions, safeguarding meetings, and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) decision-making processes where required.

Produce high-quality assessments, reports, and case recordings within agreed timescales.

Provide consultation, guidance, and advice to professionals regarding safeguarding concerns and referral processes.

Ensure children, young people, and families are actively involved in assessments and decision-making processes.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive records using electronic case management systems.

Participate in supervision, team meetings, training, and reflective practice to support continuous professional development.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, Social Work England standards, and local authority policies.
