What you will do:

• Lead the day-to-day clinical and operational delivery of the assessment centre, ensuring high standards of participant care and service efficiency.

• Provide visible clinical leadership, supervision, and support to Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Phlebotomists, and Clinical Research staff.

• Coordinate daily staffing, clinic capacity, and workflow to ensure effective service delivery and achievement of recruitment targets.

• Perform clinical assessments including health measurements, venepuncture, sample collection, and participant screening in accordance with study protocols.

• Ensure informed consent procedures are completed accurately and that participants fully understand the research programme.

• Maintain compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), study protocols, clinical governance standards, and organisational policies.

• Monitor participant safety, identify clinical concerns, and escalate issues appropriately in accordance with governance procedures.

• Lead incident reporting, investigations, and the implementation of learning outcomes to improve patient safety and service quality.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through quality assurance activities, audits, and service development initiatives.

• Support the recruitment, induction, training, competency assessment, and ongoing development of clinical staff.

• Conduct clinical supervision, performance reviews, and provide coaching and mentorship to team members.

• Monitor clinical performance indicators and contribute to operational planning and service reporting.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, electronic records, and research data in line with data protection legislation and study requirements.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, laboratories, operational managers, and research partners to support effective service delivery.

• Ensure equipment, clinical environments, and supplies comply with infection prevention, health and safety, and quality standards.

• Participate in governance meetings, policy implementation, and organisational improvement projects.

• Maintain professional registration and undertake continuing professional development activities.
