What you will do:

  • Provide administrative and casework support to SEND Case Officers managing Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review processes.

  • Coordinate statutory SEND processes, ensuring all activities are completed within legislative timescales.

  • Assist in processing requests for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments.

  • Support the preparation, drafting, and issuing of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and associated documentation.

  • Monitor statutory deadlines and maintain accurate case records using the council's case management systems.

  • Liaise with parents, carers, schools, educational settings, health professionals, social care teams, and partner agencies to gather information required for assessments and reviews.

  • Arrange Annual Reviews, person-centred planning meetings, and multi-agency meetings, ensuring appropriate distribution of documentation.

  • Respond to enquiries from families, schools, and professionals, providing accurate information and escalating complex issues when necessary.

  • Ensure confidential information is handled in accordance with GDPR, council policies, and information governance requirements.

  • Prepare reports, correspondence, meeting papers, and statutory documentation.

  • Monitor incoming professional advice and ensure documentation is complete before progressing statutory processes.

  • Maintain accurate electronic records, performance data, and service information.

  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance administrative processes and customer service standards.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Education, Health, and Social Care services to support positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development activities.
