What you will do:

  • Work collaboratively with the Child Looked After Service to support effective permanency planning for children and young people in care.

  • Undertake high-quality assessments and produce evidence-based reports within agreed timescales.

  • Contribute to reducing drift and delay in care planning by supporting timely decision-making and progression towards permanence.

  • Liaise effectively with families, foster carers, adopters, and partner agencies to promote the best possible outcomes for children.

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders involved in permanency planning.

  • Participate in statutory meetings, reviews, and planning discussions where required.

  • Support children and young people to ensure their wishes, feelings, and experiences remain central to decision-making processes.

  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely case recordings, assessments, and reports.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, local procedures, and Social Work England standards.

  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive life outcomes for looked after children and young people.
