What you will do:

Perform a broad range of CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and IR(ME)R regulations.

Produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, dignity, and comfort.

Assess and prepare patients for CT procedures, identifying any contraindications and ensuring informed participation.

Administer intravenous contrast media safely and effectively in line with departmental guidelines.

Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or complications.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot CT imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.

Apply radiation protection principles and optimise imaging protocols in accordance with ALARA principles.

Work closely with radiologists, clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnoses and positive patient outcomes.

Participate in on-call, weekend, and extended-hours rotas where required.

Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in line with professional standards and data protection regulations.

Support and mentor junior radiographers, students, and colleagues where appropriate.

Contribute to audits, quality assurance programmes, and service development initiatives.

Ensure compliance with HCPC standards, professional codes of conduct, and organisational policies.
Person Specification:

Essential:
- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Post-registration experience within CT imaging.
- Strong understanding of radiation protection, IR(ME)R legislation, and CT imaging protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in CT.
- Cannulation competency.
- Experience using Siemens, GE, or Canon CT scanners.
- Previous experience within an independent healthcare setting.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
