What you will do:

Perform venepuncture, cannulation, and blood collection procedures safely, effectively, and professionally.

Collect blood samples from volunteers within mobile blood collection units.

Ensure all samples are accurately labelled, recorded, and prepared for transportation and testing.

Maintain high standards of patient care, professionalism, and infection prevention throughout all interactions.

Follow all health and safety policies, clinical procedures, and organisational guidelines.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective service delivery across multiple locations.

Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies required for blood collection activities.

Accurately complete documentation and maintain records in accordance with service requirements.

Provide reassurance and support to volunteers throughout the blood collection process.

Travel between designated locations within Stoke-on-Trent as required to support service delivery.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA), or equivalent role.

Competence in venepuncture, blood collection, and cannulation procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high clinical standards.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel between sites.

Understanding of health and safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance requirements.
