An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Outreach Family Support Worker to join a dedicated service in Liverpool, delivering high-quality outreach and home-based Early Help support to children and families. This role focuses on a whole-family approach, supporting children aged 3–19 and helping families access universal services to prevent escalation to statutory intervention.
This varied role will see you working closely with families of disabled children, completing assessments, capturing the voice of the child, and linking families into Ofsted-registered short breaks provision at Croxteth. You will support children to access play sessions during term-time weekends and school holidays, working alongside a supportive team led by the Short Breaks Manager.

Role overview:
As a Locum Outreach Family Support Worker, you will provide targeted early help and intensive family support, acting as a key professional for complex cases and coordinating multi-agency interventions to improve outcomes for children and families.
What you will do:

Act as case holder for complex cases stepping down from Children’s Social Care

Complete Early Help assessments and lead Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings

Provide intensive, targeted support to vulnerable children, including bespoke packages for adolescents with complex emotional and mental health needs

Conduct risk assessments and implement coordinated TAF plans with partner agencies

Develop practical parenting strategies and facilitate meetings to strengthen family relationships

Maintain accurate and detailed electronic records, ensuring outcomes and plans are clearly documented

Promote safeguarding and anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of work

Actively engage service users and ensure their feedback informs service development
