Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer
Location: Ilford
Pay Rate: £26.50 per hour (PAYE) | £34.93 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary, Full-time

Seven Resourcing is recruiting an Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer to join a Youth Justice service in Ilford. This is a key frontline role working directly with children and young people who are involved in, or at risk of, offending, using a Child First, Offender Second approach to achieve positive, long-term outcomes.

About the Role

As an Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer, you will manage a complex caseload of youth justice cases, including out-of-court disposals and statutory court orders. You will work in line with National Standards and the HMIP Inspection Framework, delivering high-quality assessment, planning, and intervention to support children and young people to move away from offending behaviour and lead safer, more positive lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of youth justice cases, including out-of-court disposals and statutory court orders

  • Deliver effective, child-centred interventions using a Child First, Offender Second approach

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people and their families

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes

  • Undertake assessments and planning using AssetPlus, with a strong focus on trauma-informed practice and desistance

  • Deliver evidence-based group and one-to-one interventions to reduce the risk of offending and re-offending

  • Prepare high-quality reports, including Pre-Sentence Reports, Stand-Down Reports, and Referral Order Panel reports

  • Represent the Youth Justice Service in court and present professional information clearly and confidently

  • Analyse risk and need to deliver targeted interventions that keep children, young people, and the wider public safe

  • Promote equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of work

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience working within a Youth Justice or Youth Offending Service

  • Strong understanding of youth justice legislation, National Standards, and HMIP frameworks

  • Experience completing assessments and managing cases using AssetPlus

  • Ability to deliver trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions

  • Excellent report writing and court presentation skills

  • Strong partnership working skills across statutory and voluntary agencies
