What you will do

• Recruit, assess, and support prospective foster carers through the fostering assessment process.
• Complete comprehensive fostering assessments, including Form F assessments where required.
• Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to approved foster carers.
• Deliver training and development opportunities to foster carers to promote high-quality care.
• Advocate for children and ensure their wishes, feelings, and experiences remain central to planning and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with children's social workers, education professionals, health services, and partner agencies.
• Support placement stability and contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Participate in safeguarding processes and undertake risk assessments when required.
• Prepare detailed assessments, reports, and documentation for fostering panels and statutory reviews.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with legislation, policies, and professional standards.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of the fostering service.

Requirements

• Social Work Qualification: Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Social Work England Registration: Current registration with Social Work England.
• Fostering Experience: Previous experience within fostering services or children's social work.
• Assessment Skills: Strong experience undertaking complex assessments and report writing.
• Safeguarding Knowledge: Excellent understanding of children's safeguarding legislation and best practice.
• Communication Skills: Ability to build effective relationships with children, carers, families, and professionals.
• Organisational Skills: Ability to manage a varied workload and meet statutory timescales.
