What you will do:

• Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments for adults requiring housing adaptations.
• Complete detailed assessment reports and recommendations.
• Assess functional needs and independence within the home environment.
• Recommend equipment and housing adaptations.
• Support safe and independent living outcomes.
• Liaise with residents, families, contractors, housing teams, and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate case records and assessment documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards.
• Support delivery of adaptation projects within agreed timescales.
• Provide professional advice relating to housing adaptations and accessibility.

Additional Information:

Focusing on housing adaptations assessments and reporting, this community-based role requires home visits and supports adaptation projects across the borough.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience undertaking Occupational Therapy assessments within housing, adaptations, Adult Social Care, or community settings.
• Experience producing detailed assessment reports and recommendations.
• Knowledge of housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG).
• Knowledge of enabling independence within the home environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise workload effectively.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience working within a Local Authority or for a housing provider.
• Experience in NHS community services.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and experience working collaboratively with housing, technical, and construction teams.
