What you will do

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care, assessments, treatments, and clinical interventions within a prison healthcare service.
• Undertake reception health assessments, wellbeing reviews, and ongoing healthcare screenings for patients entering custody.
• Provide primary care services including the management of minor illnesses, injuries, long-term conditions, and chronic disease monitoring.
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies and urgent care situations across the establishment.
• Administer medication safely and participate in medicines management processes in accordance with local and national guidelines.

• Demonstrate high-quality nursing practice by delivering comprehensive and timely care while maintaining a patient-centred approach.
• Ensure all aspects of medical documentation are completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to NHS standards and protocols.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult/General) qualification, with current NMC registration and no restrictions on practice.
• Evidence of continuing professional development is essential.
• Training in venepuncture, immunisation, or chronic disease management is desirable.

Registration and Compliance

• Must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Experience

• Post-registration experience within primary care, community nursing, urgent care, acute services, or similar healthcare settings.
• Experience managing diverse patient caseloads and complex healthcare needs.
