What you will do

• Provide comprehensive dispensary services, including dispensing, checking, and distribution of medications.
• Undertake Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) duties in accordance with local and national standards.
• Support efficient ward top-up services, ensuring medicines are available when required.
• Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the acute hospital pharmacy dispensary.
• Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and professional pharmacy standards.
• Assist in stock management, ordering, and medicines optimisation processes.
• Support pharmacy colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient care.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with departmental procedures.
• Provide advice and support regarding medication supply and pharmacy processes where appropriate.
• Participate in service improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician Qualification: Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant professional registration.
• ACT Accreditation: Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification is essential.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum of two years' experience within a pharmacy setting, ideally within NHS services.
• Hospital Pharmacy Experience: Experience working within an acute hospital dispensary environment.
• Professional Registration: Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and organisational skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Driving Licence: Desirable due to service delivery across multiple sites.
