What you will do

• Provide a First Contact Physiotherapy service within GP practices, independently assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with undifferentiated MSK conditions.

• Formulate rapid diagnosis and management plans without prior GP assessment, delivering specialist MSK Physiotherapy assessment and treatment.

• Deliver self-management and behavioural change interventions while managing complex musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain presentations.

• Screen and triage referrals from GPs and consultants, supporting waiting list management and service delivery initiatives.

• Supervise and appraise Band 6 Physiotherapists and deliver specialist training and education to MDT colleagues.

• Support policy development, audit, and service improvement projects to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

• HCPC registration and a Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.

• Completion of postgraduate Level 7 or MSc level MSK training, with First Contact Physiotherapy competencies either completed or in progress.

• Significant senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy experience within NHS Musculoskeletal pathways.

• Advanced clinical reasoning and ability to autonomously manage complex cases.

• Leadership skills with a background in report writing, risk management, and clinical governance.
