What you will do

• Deliver radiotherapy treatments safely, accurately, and in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Operate linear accelerators and associated radiotherapy equipment.
• Undertake treatment verification using IGRT techniques, including anatomy matching and image review.
• Perform CT simulation procedures and treatment preparation duties.
• Check and verify treatment plans to ensure treatment accuracy and patient safety.
• Monitor patient wellbeing throughout treatment and escalate any concerns appropriately.
• Support outpatient clinics and radiotherapy treatment units.
• Supervise and support junior radiographers, assistant practitioners, and students.
• Participate in quality assurance programmes, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate treatment records, documentation, and patient information systems.
• Contribute to radiotherapy emergency cover and on-call services as required.

Requirements

• Professional Qualification: BSc or Diploma in Therapeutic Radiography.
• HCPC Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Band 6 Experience: Previous experience working at Band 6 level within Radiotherapy.
• Varian Systems Experience: Experience using Varian radiotherapy systems is essential.
• CT Simulation Experience: Competence in CT simulation procedures and treatment preparation.
• IGRT Expertise: Experience with Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), image matching, and treatment verification.
• NHS Experience: Previous experience working within an NHS Radiotherapy Department.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise and support junior staff and students effectively.
• Enhanced DBS: Essential.

Desirable Skills

• Experience using the Eclipse Treatment Planning System.
• Knowledge of OBI and CBCT imaging systems.
• Previous involvement in on-call radiotherapy services.
