What you will do

• Apply, remove, and maintain a range of casts and splints, ensuring patient safety and treatment effectiveness.
• Provide specialist orthopaedic casting services with precision and care.
• Assess and evaluate patients requiring plaster and casting interventions, offering them the best possible care.
• Support vibrant fracture clinic services that are central to the community.
• Educate patients on cast care and post-treatment management, empowering them with knowledge.
• Monitor the fit, comfort, and effectiveness of casts, ensuring the highest standards of service.
• Work closely with Orthopaedic Consultants and multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation, upholding NHS standards.
• Ensure safe and effective orthopaedic practice, contributing to excellent service delivery.
• Support seamless service delivery across both clinical sites, ensuring continuity of care.

Requirements

• British National Casting Course Qualification (Stanmore).
• Band 5 Orthopaedic Practitioner experience.
• Plaster Technician experience within fracture clinics.
• NHS experience showcasing your ability to navigate its unique environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, ensuring smooth service operations.
• Ability to work across multiple sites with ease and professionalism.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous cross-site NHS experience.
• Trauma and Orthopaedic service experience.
• Experience supporting outpatient fracture clinics.

The service operates Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break, encouraging a healthy work-life balance.
