What you will do:

  • Deliver comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions tailored to support Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) provision.
  • Provide crucial therapy services to children and young people receiving Education Other Than At School (EOTAS).
  • Work within Special Centres and Units in mainstream schools, offering targeted Occupational Therapy support.
  • Design and implement person-centred interventions that enhance educational participation and development.
  • Collaborate closely with education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
  • Contribute to assessment, planning, and review processes to support young individuals' unique educational needs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC Registration.
  • Proven Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience, particularly with children and young people.
  • Track record of delivering effective EHCP provisions and strong assessment and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within educational settings, as well as collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience with EOTAS and within school-based Occupational Therapy.
  • Background in working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience in special schools or specialist educational provisions.

Additional Information:

  • EOTAS Team: 3 days per week working within the EOTAS team.
  • Special Centres & Units: 2 days per week within Special Centres & Units attached to mainstream schools.
  • EHCP Provision: Play a vital role in delivering EHCP provision to children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education.
