What you will do:

• Provide expert social work consultation and guidance to practitioners managing complex child protection, child in need, and care proceedings cases.
• Support quality assurance activities through case audits, thematic reviews, practice observations, and performance monitoring.
• Promote best practice in safeguarding, risk assessment, permanence planning, and statutory intervention across Children's Social Care services.
• Act as a practice mentor and coach for Social Workers, Newly Qualified Social Workers, and colleagues undertaking professional development programmes.

Person Specification:

Qualification:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Post-qualifying training or advanced professional development in safeguarding, child protection, or leadership practice.
• Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children's social care.

Registration & Compliance:

• Current registration with Social Work England.

Experience:

• Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
• Demonstrable experience managing or advising on complex safeguarding and child protection cases.
• Experience undertaking practice audits, quality assurance reviews, and service improvement activities.
