Join our team as a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist focused on Paediatric Dysphagia, located in the charming Bronllys, Powys. This exciting locum opportunity is to earn up to £35.00 per hour on a part-time basis for just 1 day per week over 10 months. With a base location to be negotiated and community-based work, you can enjoy the flexibility and diversity of locum work, meeting new challenges each week. We are seeking someone to start ASAP with the role continuing until Summer 2027. What you will do

• Conduct specialist paediatric dysphagia assessments.
• Independently manage a paediatric dysphagia caseload.
• Assess and provide treatment for infants and children with feeding and swallowing difficulties.
• Develop, review and implement dysphagia management plans.
• Offer specialist recommendations to families and carers to improve patient outcomes.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to each child's needs.
• Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner services to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records and prepare detailed reports.
• Support the development and implementation of safe feeding and swallowing pathways.

Requirements

• Possess a Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration.
• Demonstrated specialist experience in paediatric dysphagia.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload effectively.
• Competence in managing dysphagia for children from infancy through older childhood.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
• Own transportation is essential to engage fully with community visits.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in community paediatrics is advantageous.
• Prior experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated history of supporting complex feeding and swallowing needs.
