What you will do

• Support service users from entry into the service through assessment, treatment, recovery planning, and successful discharge.
• Complete comprehensive screenings, risk assessments, and personalised recovery plans in accordance with organisational policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Deliver one-to-one key-working sessions, psychosocial interventions, harm reduction advice, and recovery-focused support.
• Facilitate structured group programmes and workshops covering topics such as relapse prevention, wellbeing, relationships, sleep management, and resilience.
• Promote service user involvement, peer support, community engagement, and access to mutual aid and recovery networks.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care, Substance Misuse, Counselling, or a related discipline, or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
• Training in motivational interviewing, psychosocial interventions, or recovery-focused practice is desirable.

Experience

• Experience supporting adults affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse within health, social care, community, housing, or criminal justice services.
• Experience managing complex caseloads and engaging hard-to-reach or vulnerable individuals.

Requirements

• DBS on the update service.
• Proven experience in substance misuse (drugs & alcohol).
• Strong caseload management and key-working skills.
• Good understanding of harm reduction and recovery models.
