This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Band 6 CAMHS Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team within Occupational Therapy in Birmingham, West Midlands. Offering a competitive rate of £27.00 per hour, this full-time locum role is available on an ongoing basis. Working patterns are flexible and will be agreed directly with the service. Please note that travel across Birmingham is required as part of this role.

What you will do

• Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within CAMHS services.
• Manage a caseload of children and young people with mental health needs.
• Complete functional, sensory, and occupational assessments.
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans.
• Support children and young people to improve functional outcomes and participation.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to care planning and risk management processes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using RiO and EPMA.
• Liaise with families, carers, schools, and external agencies.
• Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Essential CAMHS experience.
• Experience working with children and young people with mental health needs.
• Experience managing a caseload independently.
• Experience using RiO.
• Experience using EPMA.
• Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to travel across Birmingham.

Desirable Requirements

• Community CAMHS experience.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary mental health teams.
• Experience supporting complex mental health presentations.

• Approved until 31 October 2026.
• Potential 4-week extension subject to approval.
