Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join a legal team on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Contracts Lawyer, Procurement Lawyer or Local Government Lawyer with relevant experience in commercial contracts and public sector procurement to take on a temporary assignment.

The Role

As a Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer, you will provide legal support and advice across contracts and procurement matters, working alongside colleagues to help ensure that contractual and procurement activity is legally sound and appropriately managed.

The successful candidate will bring strong legal knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to manage a varied workload within a professional legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on contracts and procurement matters.
• Draft, review and advise on commercial and contractual documentation.
• Provide guidance on procurement-related legal issues.
• Identify and manage legal and contractual risks.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and colleagues.
• Ensure legal advice is clear, practical and appropriate to the circumstances.
• Manage a varied caseload and meet relevant deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Keep up to date with relevant legislation, regulations and case law affecting contracts and procurement.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Contracts and Procurement Lawyer who can quickly become effective within an interim position.

You should have:

• Relevant qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister.
• Demonstrable experience in contracts and procurement law.
• Strong commercial and contractual drafting skills.
• Knowledge of relevant procurement legislation and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to provide clear, practical legal advice.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience working effectively with internal stakeholders.

Previous local government or public sector legal experience would be advantageous.

Assignment Details

This is a temporary Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer position running from 12 October 2026 to 11 January 2027, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
