What you will do:

  • Undertake statutory assessments in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
  • Assess risk, identify protective factors and develop child-centred plans that promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
  • Manage a caseload of children and families, ensuring assessments and interventions are completed within statutory timescales.
  • Conduct home visits and direct work with children, ensuring their views, wishes and feelings are captured and evidenced in assessments.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work, BA (Hons), MA or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) where applicable.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Registration and Compliance:

  • Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).

Experience:

  • Experience within a Children's Services Assessment, Duty and Assessment, Assessment and Intervention or Front Door Team.
  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads involving safeguarding concerns.
