Social Worker Advanced Practitioner - Children's Emergency Duty Team (EDT) in Lincolnshire, UK, earning £40.00 per hour. Predominantly home-based, with occasional office shifts in Lincoln, this role operates outside normal working hours on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

What you will do

  • Respond swiftly to emergency referrals and requests for social care intervention received by the EDT.
  • Undertake urgent assessments of children and young people where concerns cannot safely wait until the next working day.
  • Assess immediate and potential risks of significant harm, making timely safeguarding decisions and implementing protective measures.
  • Ensure the child's voice, wishes, and feelings are central to assessment and decision-making processes.
  • Develop safety plans in partnership with children, parents, carers, and relevant professionals.
  • Conduct statutory social work interventions in accordance with current legislation, policy, and guidance.
  • Initiate Section 47 enquiries and participate in strategy discussions where appropriate.
  • Liaise effectively with professionals from health, police, education, and other agencies to coordinate emergency responses.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely case records.
  • Ensure all decisions, actions, and recommendations are effectively communicated and handed over to daytime teams.
