We are on the lookout for a Recovery Worker specialising in Substance Misuse to join a vibrant service in Watford, UK. This rewarding locum opportunity offers an ongoing, full-time role with an attractive hourly rate of £23.00. Based at 18 Station Road, Watford, Hertfordshire WD17 1JU, you will work 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, initially on a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. What you will do
- Assess clients experiencing substance misuse issues and develop personalised recovery plans tailored to their individual needs.
- Deliver one-to-one keyworking sessions, supporting clients throughout their recovery journey.
- Manage and maintain an appropriate caseload, ensuring high standards of care and support.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and partner agencies to deliver comprehensive recovery programmes.
- Educate clients on harm reduction strategies and promote recovery-focused approaches.
- Conduct regular reviews of client progress and adapt recovery plans where necessary to achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- DBS Certificate: Must hold a valid DBS on the Update Service.
- Substance Misuse Experience: Proven experience supporting individuals with drug and alcohol misuse issues.
- Caseload Management: Strong ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively.
- Specialist Knowledge: Good understanding of harm reduction principles and recovery models.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills with the ability to build positive relationships with service users.
