What you will do:
- Manage the day-to-day operations in the Child Protection Service, overseeing contacts, referrals, and assessments.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of social workers and unqualified staff to ensure the delivery of effective children’s social care services.
- Ensure timely and robust allocation of new Child and Family Assessments and Child Protection enquiries.
- Handle complex cases, contributing positively to service development and achieving desired outcomes.
- Develop and enhance best practices, policies, and procedures, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong multi-agency relationships, fostering effective communication across the service.
- Conduct team meetings and deputise for the Team Manager when necessary.
Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
- Extensive post-qualification experience in child protection and social work with families in complex situations.
- Excellent assessment skills, with the ability to manage risks and conduct regular reviews.
- Strong multi-agency partnership experience, demonstrating the ability to effect positive change.
- Deep understanding of relevant legislation, management strategies, and therapeutic interventions in Children’s Social Care.
- Proficient in using information technology systems relevant to the role.
