What you will do:

• Be responsible for the leadership and management of a Disabled Children Social Work team, ensuring responsive services that safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people with disabilities, and their families.
• Actively contribute to strategic developments to enhance child-friendly approaches within a Restorative Practice framework.
• Promote partnership working across disciplines and with internal and external partners to deliver integrated support and key strategies for disabled children and young people.
• Ensure integration of social care into SEND education, health, and care plans (EHCPs) and coordinate annual EHCP reviews alongside relevant social care processes.
• Support a culture of co-production ensuring the service meets local needs and is accountable to disabled children, young people, their families, and carers.
• Manage and develop staff, including Social Workers, ASYE’s, and Trainee Social Workers, to ensure high-quality service delivery and improved outcomes for disabled children and young people.
• Promote the take-up of Short Breaks to enable families to have ordinary lives and participate in everyday activities.
• Manage resources effectively, ensuring thresholds for service intervention are met, budgets are utilized efficiently, and value for money is achieved.
• Participate in recruitment, staff induction, and professional development to ensure high standards in service delivery.
