Senior Mental Health Practitioner – CRHT Team

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) Team across Norfolk & Suffolk. This ongoing, full-time locum opportunity is ideal for a skilled practitioner who thrives in fast-paced crisis services and is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health care in the community.

Working from Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, helping to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and promoting recovery within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and provide effective gatekeeping to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

  • Deliver home treatment interventions, including medication support and monitoring concordance.

  • Carry out home visits, offering timely and responsive care in line with CRHT pathways.

  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to care planning and risk management.

  • Provide expert mental health support and guidance to service users and their families or carers.

  • Apply your RMN/RNLD expertise and PMVA skills to manage risk and ensure safe, therapeutic interventions.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in line with Trust standards.


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Band 6).

  • Current NMC registration (RMN or RNLD).

  • Proven experience working within CRHT or crisis services.

  • Ability to work flexible 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.

  • Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.

  • PMVA training and confidence managing acute mental health presentations.
