What you will do

  • Manage an allocated caseload of service users experiencing substance misuse and related social, health, or wellbeing difficulties.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments of substance use, needs, strengths, risks, and recovery goals.
  • Develop individualised recovery plans in partnership with service users.
  • Deliver structured one-to-one interventions and appropriate group-based interventions.
  • Provide information, advice, and education relating to substance use, recovery, health, and wellbeing.
  • Support service users to understand the impact of alcohol and/or drug use and develop strategies to reduce harm.
  • Encourage engagement with appropriate treatment, health, and recovery services.
  • Regularly review recovery plans and monitor progress against agreed outcomes.
  • Support service users to develop practical skills that promote independence and sustainable recovery.
  • Promote engagement with education, training, employment, housing, and community opportunities.
  • Encourage positive relationships and social networks that support recovery.
  • Work with families and carers where appropriate and with the service user's consent.
