Locum Job Description: Occupational Therapist - Optimising Care Team within Occupational Therapy in Reading, Berkshire UK earning up to £38.00 per hour hourly. This exciting six-month full-time opportunity offers the chance to make a real difference in adults' lives within the community, using your expertise to optimise their care. As a valued member of the Optimising Care Team, you will work Monday to Friday, approximately 09:00-17:00, engaging with clients through home visits and in-person meetings.

What you will do:

• Undertake complex Occupational Therapy assessments within Adult Services.
• Complete complex Moving and Handling assessments, enhancing the safety and wellbeing of your clients.
• Provide specialist single-handed care assessments and recommendations, ensuring tailored solutions are in place.
• Develop strength-based solutions to maximise independence for clients.
• Review and optimise existing care arrangements to ensure efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Support the reduction of reliance on formal care packages where appropriate, promoting independence and empowerment.
• Provide expert clinical advice regarding Moving and Handling, influencing better practices.
• Complete home visits and functional assessments to address clients' unique needs.
• Work collaboratively with care providers and multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care delivery.
• Contribute to service development and care optimisation initiatives, shaping future services.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Significant Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy experience.
• Extensive Moving and Handling experience.
• Extensive experience delivering and implementing single-handed care approaches.
• Up-to-date Moving and Handling training.
• Experience undertaking complex assessments.
• Ability to provide specialist clinical advice.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience within Optimising Care services.
• Experience reducing care package reliance through rehabilitation and enablement approaches.
• Local Authority experience.
