This part-time role offers 22.5 hours per week, with work scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. What you will do:

• Clarify and safely screen both written and electronic prescription charts to ensure patient safety.
• Review and address discharge letters and prescribing documentation.
• Investigate and address any inappropriate prescribing, including unlicensed, off-label, and non-formulary medicines.
• Provide critical complex medicines information to clinicians across various disciplines.
• Ensure the efficient supply of pharmaceutical products to wards.
• Support ward-based pharmacy services to optimise patient care.
• Accurately dispense and check prescriptions.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians as needed to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist the Head Pharmacist in delivering a safe and efficient pharmacy service.
• Help manage the drug supply service to ensure timely medication access.

Requirements:

• Qualified Pharmacist with active GPhC registration.
• Experience working in hospital pharmacy settings.
• Competence in screening prescriptions and medication charts.
• Proficiency in querying prescribing issues and medicines optimisation.
• Experience in dispensing and checking prescriptions.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex medicines information.
• Ability to work independently with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Competent with pharmacy computer systems.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience in NHS hospital pharmacy.
• Holder of a Smartcard.
• Experience supervising Pharmacy Technicians.
• Experience in ward-based clinical pharmacy services.
