Seven Resourcing are currently looking for two experienced Occupational Therapists to join an Adult Services Occupational Therapy and Specialist Assessment Team in Barry on a temporary 24-week contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist to support adults with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities, helping individuals maintain their independence and remain living safely in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with a range of physical, sensory and learning disabilities.
- Assess and recommend appropriate equipment and aids to promote independence and improve quality of life.
- Complete assessments relating to minor and major home adaptations.
- Undertake manual handling assessments and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Develop person-centred solutions that enable individuals to remain independent within their own homes.
- Assess the effectiveness and impact of equipment, adaptations and interventions.
- Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and other professionals involved in their support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment and case records.
- Contribute to effective care planning and risk management.
- Support the wider Adult Social Care team in delivering positive outcomes for service users.
Requirements
- Degree or recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist, ideally within adult social care or community services.
- Experience undertaking assessments and recommending equipment, adaptations and other interventions.
- Knowledge of manual handling and moving and handling assessments.
- Strong understanding of promoting independence and person-centred practice.
- Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
