What you will do
- Support the Team Manager in the day-to-day management and performance of the Children's Social Work Team.
- Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to Social Workers and other practitioners.
- Promote high standards of practice, ensuring interventions are evidence-based and outcome-focused.
- Facilitate complex case discussions and contribute to decision-making regarding safeguarding and child welfare.
- Ensure the voice, wishes, and feelings of children and young people remain central to all assessments and decision-making.
- Provide reflective supervision, coaching, and professional support to allocated staff members.
- Assist with the induction, mentoring, and development of Social Workers, including Newly Qualified Social Workers.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are appropriately assessed, managed, and escalated where required.
- Support practitioners in managing complex and high-risk cases.
- Monitor case progression, statutory visits, assessments, reviews, and care planning activities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous improvement across Children's Services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and organisational policies.
