Purpose of the Role

The Advanced Practitioner will deliver expert social work practice within the Locality Team, leading complex cases and providing guidance to colleagues. You will ensure effective safeguarding, child-centred approaches, and statutory duties are fulfilled, while supporting the professional development of your peers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of high-risk and complex cases involving children and families
Conduct statutory assessments, care planning, and interventions in line with legislation and local policy
Engage directly with children and families, ensuring their voices inform decision-making
Prepare reports for child protection conferences, looked-after children reviews, and court proceedings
Mentor and advise social workers, promoting reflective practice and professional growth
Lead safeguarding inquiries, risk assessments, and child protection planning
Collaborate with multi-agency partners including health, education, police, and voluntary services
Participate in audits and service reviews to enhance practice quality
Maintain Social Work England registration and pursue continuous professional development
Promote inclusive practices, equality, and diversity in all aspects of work
