What You Will Do

• Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and practitioners, ensuring high-quality performance and outcomes for children and families.

• Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to staff, promoting professional growth and effective practice.

• Oversee assessments, care planning, and interventions to ensure statutory duties are fulfilled in line with legislation and local authority policies.

• Allocate cases appropriately, ensuring workloads reflect the complexity and risk levels associated with each case.

• Promote a culture of reflective learning, continuous improvement, and high professional standards across the team.

• Work collaboratively with internal departments and partner agencies to secure the best outcomes for children.

• Monitor team performance through audits, supervision, and quality assurance activities.

• Contribute to service development initiatives and support the implementation of quality assurance frameworks.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).

• Current registration with Social Work England.

• Significant experience within Children’s Social Work services, including safeguarding and statutory interventions.

• Proven experience supervising or managing social workers within a local authority setting.

• Strong knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks for children’s services.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
