What You Will Do

Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and practitioners, ensuring high-quality performance and outcomes for children and families.

Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to staff, promoting professional growth and effective practice.

Oversee assessments, care planning, and interventions to ensure statutory duties are fulfilled in line with legislation and local authority policies.

Allocate cases appropriately, ensuring workloads reflect the complexity and risk levels associated with each case.

Promote a culture of reflective learning, continuous improvement, and high professional standards across the team.

Work collaboratively with internal departments and partner agencies to secure the best outcomes for children.

Monitor team performance through audits, supervision, and quality assurance activities.

Contribute to service development initiatives and support the implementation of quality assurance frameworks.
Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).

Current registration with Social Work England.

Significant experience within Children’s Social Work services, including safeguarding and statutory interventions.

Proven experience supervising or managing social workers within a local authority setting.

Strong knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks for children’s services.

Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
