Inside IR35Our Client has a requirement for an NEC4 Project Manager, who will be required to work on a contract f basis in East SussexRole PurposeThe NEC4 Project Manager will play a key role in delivering major transportation and infrastructure projects throughout procurement and construction phases. Acting as the client's representative, you will be responsible for ensuring successful delivery under the NEC suite of contracts, maintaining collaboration between stakeholders, driving proactive decision-making, and ensuring contractual processes are administered effectively throughout the project lifecycle.You will support the delivery of major highways and rail projects, providing leadership across multidisciplinary teams while ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, scope and quality requirements.Job Role Responsibilities Act as the client's representative on projects delivered under NEC contracts.Administer NEC contracts including NEC Professional Services Contracts (PSC), Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC), and Engineering and Construction Subcontracts (ECS).Manage contractual processes including Early Warnings, Compensation Events, Project Manager Instructions, and contractual notifications.Develop, review and manage NEC3 Works Information and NEC4 Scope documentation.Coordinate and lead communication between clients, contractors, consultants and project teams.Support multidisciplinary teams including Supervisors, planners, cost controllers and design teams.Review and assess contractor programmes, including float management, logic links, concurrency and Key Dates.Monitor project progress and ensure timely contractual decision-making and compliance.Manage project risks, change and uncertainty while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.Contribute to NEC best practice across project teams and wider business functions.Support projects from early-stage procurement through construction delivery and final close-out. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications Accredited NEC Project Manager (NECReg).Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or another built environment discipline.Proven hands-on project management experience on live construction sites.Extensive experience administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.Demonstrable experience managing large and complex construction projects valued at £20 million or greater.Experience managing contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams within regulated environments.Strong understanding of NEC contractual mechanisms including Compensation Events, Early Warnings, Instructions and Key Dates.Excellent knowledge of construction programming principles including float, logic links, concurrency and critical path analysis.Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.Ability to manage change and uncertainty while maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
