Outreach and Engagement Team Leader
Location: Newham
Rate: £25 - £30 per hour (Umbrella)
Employment Type: Temporary, Full-Time (2 months)
Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an experienced Outreach and Engagement Team Leader to join a community-focused service in Newham on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled health and social care professional with experience in substance misuse services, community outreach, recovery support, and team leadership.
The successful candidate will provide operational leadership to an outreach and engagement team, supporting the delivery of high-quality services that improve access to treatment, reduce barriers to support, and engage individuals from underrepresented communities.
You will play a key role in developing partnership pathways, leading outreach activity, and ensuring services are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership, supervision, and support to a multidisciplinary team, including frontline practitioners, volunteers, peer mentors, and support staff.
- Lead outreach and engagement activity to identify and support individuals who may face barriers accessing substance misuse services.
- Develop and maintain strong partnership working relationships with community organisations and external agencies.
- Identify gaps in service provision and create solutions to improve engagement and treatment pathways.
- Support the delivery of recovery-focused interventions, including psychosocial support and recovery coaching.
- Promote access to health screening services, including blood borne virus testing and referral pathways.
- Support integrated care planning and effective referrals to specialist health services.
- Use community intelligence and needs assessments to improve service accessibility for diverse populations.
- Provide motivational interviewing and evidence-based interventions to support positive outcomes.
- Monitor service performance, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and produce reports and action plans.
- Manage staff performance, development, supervision, appraisals, and wellbeing.
- Support safeguarding practices and ensure safe, effective service delivery.
- Attend internal and external meetings with key stakeholders and partner agencies.
Applicant Requirements:
- Experience leading and developing health, social care, community, or substance misuse services.
- Previous experience managing and supporting a team within a care, health, or community setting.
- Strong understanding of barriers faced by underrepresented groups accessing support services.
- Experience developing partnership pathways and working collaboratively with external organisations.
- Knowledge of substance misuse treatment approaches, recovery models, and community-based interventions.
- Understanding of motivational interviewing techniques and psychosocial interventions.
- Experience of service improvement, quality monitoring, and performance management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with vulnerable adults and promote inclusive services.
