Recovery Worker
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an experienced Recovery Worker to join a substance misuse and recovery service in Watford. This temporary opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and skilled professional with experience supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol challenges, helping service users achieve positive outcomes and progress through their recovery journey.

As a Recovery Worker, you will play a key role within a multidisciplinary team, providing structured support, assessments, recovery planning, harm reduction advice, and practical interventions to empower individuals towards independent and purposeful lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support service users from initial engagement through assessment, treatment, and recovery.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments and develop personalised recovery plans.
  • Provide one-to-one key work sessions, group work, and psychosocial interventions.
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships with service users, promoting trust and engagement.
  • Deliver harm reduction advice, including support around safer practices and health education.
  • Complete risk assessments and contribute to effective risk management plans.
  • Support service users with social reintegration, resilience, and community involvement.
  • Provide advocacy and assist individuals in accessing relevant partnership services.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, mental health services, community organisations, and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports in line with service requirements.
  • Support recovery communities, peer support initiatives, and mutual aid networks.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a substance misuse, drug and alcohol, recovery, or related support setting.
  • Strong understanding of recovery-focused approaches and harm reduction practices.
  • Experience completing assessments, support plans, and case management documentation.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and working with vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with service users and partner agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
