Join our dynamic team in Crawley as a locum Paramedic - Emergency Care Practitioner with flexible, ad hoc bookings available to fit your lifestyle! This short-term role places you at the forefront of emergency care, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and discharging/referencing patients with minor illnesses and injuries. As part of this autonomous role at the Crawley Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), you will have the freedom to shape your work-life balance with both part-time and full-time opportunities.

What you will do:

• Triage and assess patients presenting with minor illness and injuries.
• Request and interpret X-rays.
• Perform suturing and tissue adhesive application.
• Undertake plastering and management of minor fractures.
• Prescribe and administer medications (where qualified).
• Deliver health promotion and patient education.
• Refer and signpost patients to appropriate services.
• Undertake safeguarding assessments and escalations where required.
• Work collaboratively within urgent care and multidisciplinary pathways.

Requirements:

• Current NMC or HCPC Registration.
• Significant experience within UTC, MIU, A&E, Emergency Care or Primary Care settings.
• Minor Illness and Minor Injuries qualifications.
• Experience assessing and treating both illness and injury presentations.
• IR(ME)R / X-ray requesting experience.
• Red Dot Training.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills.
• Experience making appropriate referrals and discharge decisions.
• Understanding of safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Requirements:

• Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
• SystmOne experience.
• Smartcard.
