What you will do
- Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and support a team of social workers, ensuring high standards of practice and performance.
- Staff Development: Oversee recruitment, induction, mentoring, and ongoing professional development of team members.
- Safeguarding Oversight: Manage safeguarding concerns, child protection cases, Public Law Outline processes, and care proceedings.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct audits, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement across the service.
- Child-Focused Practice: Champion children's voices and promote strengths-based, relationship-focused approaches.
- Multi-Agency Working: Build and maintain effective partnerships with key agencies to support safeguarding outcomes.
- Case Management: Oversee complex case investigations and supervise court-related work.
- Resource Management: Manage team resources and budgets effectively to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
- Management Experience: Previous leadership or management experience within children's social work services.
- Safeguarding Expertise: Extensive knowledge of child protection, safeguarding processes, and relevant legislation.
- Court Work Experience: Experience overseeing complex cases, PLO work, and care proceedings.
- Communication Skills: Strong leadership, organisational, and partnership-working abilities.
