What you will do

• Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and support a team of social workers, ensuring high standards of practice and performance.
• Staff Development: Oversee recruitment, induction, mentoring, and ongoing professional development of team members.
• Safeguarding Oversight: Manage safeguarding concerns, child protection cases, Public Law Outline processes, and care proceedings.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct audits, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement across the service.
• Child-Focused Practice: Champion children's voices and promote strengths-based, relationship-focused approaches.
• Multi-Agency Working: Build and maintain effective partnerships with key agencies to support safeguarding outcomes.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
• Management Experience: Previous leadership or management experience within children's social work services.
• Safeguarding Expertise: Extensive knowledge of child protection, safeguarding processes, and relevant legislation.
• Court Work Experience: Experience overseeing complex cases, PLO work, and care proceedings.
• Communication Skills: Strong leadership, organisational, and partnership-working abilities.
