What You Will Do

Manage a caseload of service users with substance misuse issues, completing assessments, care planning, interventions, and reviews.
Work collaboratively with service users to develop recovery plans, set realistic goals, and track progress.
Deliver one-to-one structured interventions and motivational support.
Provide harm reduction advice, including overdose prevention and safer use guidance.
Address wider needs such as housing, mental health, physical health, and social inclusion.
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with local and national protocols.
Work closely with partner agencies including health services, mental health teams, and housing providers.
Maintain accurate and timely case records using VIA’s case management systems.
Facilitate access to detox, rehabilitation, prescribing services, and community recovery resources.
Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, case discussions, and service planning sessions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

Experience working with individuals affected by substance misuse, mental health issues, or homelessness.
Understanding of recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practice.
Excellent communication and engagement skills.

Desirable:

A relevant qualification in health, social care, counselling, or a related field.
Experience working in drug and alcohol services.
Knowledge of harm reduction approaches and treatment pathways.

Skills and Competencies
