About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children’s Assessment Team in Enfield. You will play a vital role in completing high-quality assessments and ensuring children and families receive timely, effective support at the point of referral.

Key Responsibilities

As a Social Worker in the Assessment Team, you will:

  • Undertake timely and high-quality assessments to identify risks, needs, and strengths of children and families.

  • Complete assessments in line with statutory frameworks, including the Children Act 1989.

  • Develop clear, child-focused intervention plans that promote safety and positive outcomes.

  • Engage directly with children and families to understand lived experiences and inform decision-making.

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including education, health, police, and mental health services.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and defensible case records in line with statutory and local authority requirements.

  • Participate in team meetings, strategy discussions, and multi-agency forums.

  • Contribute to service development, quality assurance activity, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

  • Registration with Social Work England

  • Post-qualifying experience within statutory children’s social care

  • Strong knowledge of assessment processes, safeguarding, and child protection

  • Experience working within an assessment or referral team (desirable)
