What you will do:

• Accurately check and process instruments that have been used in operations, including decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing, and sterilisation. You will learn about the operation of machinery in the department and handle the sending of instruments for repair.

• Respond to reasonable requests from supervisors and managers, which may include working flexible hours to meet the business needs.

• Complete all required paperwork correctly and on time, with particular focus on accounting for each instrument on the Tray List. Resolve issues with missing instruments promptly.

• Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained for all materials used in the department.

• Stay compliant with all mandatory training, keeping up-to-date with equipment use and departmental protocols.

• Communicate effectively and politely with customers, colleagues, and suppliers, and seek guidance when necessary.

• Help develop the service to maintain a high standard of safe and effective decontamination processes.

• Assist in training new decontamination colleagues as directed by your supervisors.

Requirements:

• HealthEdge proficiency: Proficiency in using HealthEdge is vital, and maintaining compliance with the hospital's training programmes is essential.

• Relevant experience: Ideally, candidates must have two years of relevant experience within sterile services.

• HCPC registration: An HCPC registration is required.

• Driving licence: Having a valid driving licence is preferable.
