What you will do:

Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments of individuals with substance misuse issues, focusing on physical health, mental health, and risk factors.

Deliver essential nursing interventions, such as detoxification support, opioid substitution treatment monitoring, and planning for relapse prevention.

Administer and monitor medication following clinical protocols, NICE guidance, and controlled drug regulations to ensure patient safety and care quality.

Lead harm reduction initiatives like blood-borne virus screening, vaccination programmes, distributing naloxone, and educating on overdose prevention.

Possess a Registered Nurse qualification in Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disabilities.

Demonstrate continued professional development related to substance misuse or community healthcare.

Registration and Compliance:

Hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Have a solid understanding of NICE guidance, Orange Guidelines, safeguarding procedures, and clinical governance frameworks.

Familiarity with controlled drugs legislation, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the principles of harm reduction.
