What you will do:

  • Undertake holistic occupational therapy assessments for adults with functional, physical, or cognitive impairments within community and home settings.

  • Recommend and organise appropriate equipment, assistive technology, and adaptations, both major and minor, to foster independence and mitigate risks.

  • Complete comprehensive moving and handling assessments, offering guidance to carers, families, and support providers to ensure safe practices.

  • Develop personalised support plans crafted in line with the Care Act 2014, emphasising prevention, reablement, and strengths-focused interventions.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications:

    • You will need a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with evidence of continued professional development geared towards adult social care practice.

  • Registration and Compliance:

    • Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and possess strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding adults procedures.

    • An understanding of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG), moving and handling legislation, and strengths-based practice frameworks is crucial.
