What you will do:
- Screen and analyse referrals and contacts received into MASH, applying statutory thresholds to identify Child Protection, Child in Need, and Early Help responses.
- Undertake multi-agency information sharing and intelligence checks to inform evidence-based safeguarding decisions, adhering to guidelines from Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Use recognised risk assessment frameworks, including Signs of Safety, to evaluate risk, need, and protective factors, recommending appropriate interventions and pathways.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to referrers, partner agencies, and internal teams, ensuring transparent decision-making with clearly communicated rationale and outcomes.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent recognised UK qualification).
Registration & Compliance:
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
Experience:
- Post-qualified experience in statutory children’s social work.
- Previous experience within a MASH, Duty and Assessment, or safeguarding-focused team is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of applying safeguarding thresholds and making defensible decisions under pressure.
