Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do

  • Manage a varied caseload, conducting thorough assessments of children and families.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans.
  • Complete risk assessments and take action to address any safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to promote the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Deliver evidence‑based interventions tailored to family needs.
  • Work collaboratively with health, education, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely case records in line with policy and legislation.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and reflective practice sessions.
  • Support team development by identifying areas for improvement and contributing to service enhancements.

Requirements / Candidate Criteria

Essential

  • Recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in Children’s Services and complex casework.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting children with disabilities or mental health needs.
  • Experience in multi‑agency or integrated partnership working.
  • Training or mentoring background within Children’s Social Care.
